... never have more truthful words been spoken.
|Jesse Ventura -the man who did not have time to bleed|
If you have no idea where this quote comes from, I demand you watch this clip from Predator.
Even if you do know, watch it anyway... it's priceless.
For 99% of the world, Jesse "The Body" Ventura's words are simply those of an overly macho meat head.
To me, they are highly symbolic.
To me, "bleeding" represents any setback that could prevent you from achieving your goals.
In Mr. Ventura's case, his goal was to stay alive.
He didn't have time to sit there crying about "the hit" he took.
He wanted to live.
What about you?
What do you want?
Do you want to play on game day?
Do you want to add 40lbs to your bench?
Do you want to get ripped?
Oddly enough, you always find more than enough "time to bleed".
Maybe you got sick.
Maybe you got hurt.
And here you are, wondering why you have not achieved any of your goals.
The next guy is taking your reps on the field.
Your bench press hasn't increased in 5 years.
And your body fat is higher than Snoop Dog in the late 90's.
Jesse Ventura was right.
You "ain't got time to bleed".
Do everything in your power RIGHT NOW to prevent it from happening.
Don't want to get sick?
Wash your hands, eat properly, and don't deprive yourself of sleep.
Don't want to get hurt?
Stretch, foam roll, and work on muscular imbalances.
You think this sounds harsh?
I don't care.
The world is not waiting around for you to get healthy.
Stop making excuses and start being accountable for your own success.
